Georgios Misailidis
Manager, Energy & Asset Management, Athens International Airport
| Georgios Misailidis is an engineering and operations professional at Athens International Airport S.A. (AIA), currently serving since 2022 as Energy and Asset Management Manager. In this role, he coordinates AIA’s renewable energy projects, leads the airport’s transition toward net zero emissions under the “Route 2025” strategy, and oversees major initiatives such as large-scale PV installations, battery storage, heat pump systems, and fleet electrification. Since joining AIA in 2008, Georgios has taken on progressively responsible roles: as Utilities Supervisor (2008–2010), working on the development of the 8 MWp photovoltaic park; as Head of Landside Services (2011–2016), managing airport parking operations, commercial strategies, and landside operations; and as Head of Mechanical Engineering Maintenance (2016–2022), ensuring the reliable operation and regulatory compliance of critical facilities' mechanical systems including HVAC, elevators, jet bridges, firefighting systems, and treatment plants. Earlier in his career, Georgios gained experience as a mechanical engineer in product development at Alenia Aeronautica (Italy) and as an engineer at Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC). He holds advanced degrees in Mechanical Engineering (NTUA), Engineering Management (NEU, Boston), and an MBA (HOU), combining technical expertise with business understanding. |
