Δρ. Βασίλης Καππάτος

Dr. Vassilios Kappatos is the Director of the Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT), Center for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). He is also the President of the Hellenic Institute of Electric Vehicles, Visiting Fellow at School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing, Cranfield University, UK and member of oN DuTy program supported by the Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) of the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and industrial partners.
His research interests lie in the fields of NDE and Structural Health Monitoring of transportation infrastructure, Condition Monitoring in transportation means, Structural Integrity, Pattern Recognition and Signal Processing, with a focus on applications related to transportation and their infrastructure. His research has been supported by the European Commission and other organizations.
